A Brief History of The Brownlee Report

Ted BrownleeTed’s first foray into the auction markets came with a seat on the California Floricultural Exchange in the early 1980's. In 1990, Ted received the coveted Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation from the Market Technicians Association.

Ted's 15 years as Chief Market Technician for a regional brokerage firm produced what is now The Brownlee Report, first published under that name in 1991 as a service to trading professionals.

In 2000, Ted began to disseminate the report to the public. On January 21, 2000, Brownlee Report subscribers read these words:

Expect a continuation of the rally in the S&P 500 Index...Move out of the index on any close above the 1520 level. The time you are out of the market is just as important as the time you are in the market.
On March 24, 2000 The S&P 500 scored its 1527.45 record high close. The Brownlee Report called the top of the market. Did your financial advisor call you?

The Brownlee Report is a weekly publication, frequently updated, that provides a technical rationale for entering and exiting the U.S. domestic stock markets. It combines and interprets the tools and indicators used by the professional market technician into a simple easy to use color-coded timing signal.

If you are going to restore the value of your investment account or 401K, the need to make investment decisions is inescapable. The Brownlee Report dramatically increases your chances of investment success by helping you to avoid prolonged declines in the stock market through an excellent record of accuracy in signaling stock market turns.

The Brownlee Report is read worldwide, but it focuses on the U.S. stock market. Subscribers range from professional to amateur. Professional or amateur, if you trade the SPY’s, QQQ’s, Pro or Rydex, equity funds, equity sub-contracts in variable annuities, The Brownlee Report can dramatically improve your investment results. The Brownlee Report answers the first question every investor—amateur or professional—must ask: "What is the direction of the market?"
